Write a reviewEast Midlands School for Social ntrepreneurs (EMSSE)provides a year-long training programme of action learning tailored to meet the characteristics of the social entrepreneur and the needs of their project. Our programme is built on learning by doing, an approach that emphasises experience, experimentation and personal needs: working in practice not in theory. We do not require applicants to have any specific qualifications, only that they are enthusiastic, determined and committed to the success of their project. The School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) exists to provide training and opportunities to enable people to use their creative and entrepreneurial abilities more fully for social benefit. The school was founded in London in 1997 by Michael Young (Lord Young of Dartington), a social innovator who had previously launched The Consumer Association, The Open University and around 40 other organisations.
