The BLSC notes that the MOU was signed after the British Prime Minister Tony Blair had visited Libya to shake hands with Gaddafi and open the door for British business's to trade with the regime and we demand that Government stops trading with Libya until Human Rights and Democracy are reinstated The BLSC is a campaigning group that supports the aims of Libyans in Libya and all Libyan Exiles in their opposition to the oppressive Military Regime of Colonel Gaddafi We believe that the people of Libya have been denied the freedom to hold elections, set up an opposition Party, have free press, denied basic Human Rights and been subject to an oppressive and ever present security force since the military coup in 1969 We aim to build an effective mass campaign, organising protests, political lobbying and raising public awareness
