At RJR we pride ourselves on manufacturing premium quality joinery that enhances the performance and aesthetics of any property. All manufactured in the U.K, our joinery products benefit from the latest innovations in materials and production techniques. From detailed architectural designs, to final coating, RJR manages your project from start to finish. Our timber windows offer the perfect combination of aesthetics and technical performance for every style of window. Wood is still the best material for manufacturing windows, with its durability, thermal transmittance performance and warm, timeless beauty. With u-values of our latest flush casement windows down to 1.2W/m2k, this translates to money back on your investment. Studies of whole life cost of windows at Heriot Watt University, June 2013, have shown that while PVC-U windows had the lowest initial cost, timber windows had the lowest whole life cost, even considering maintenance costs. This is based on a service life of 60 to 80 years for timber, compared to 30 years for PVC-U. All of our windows are produced using state of the art technology for the machining part of the process. This enables us to give the customer shorter lead times and completion of large projects on time. Once machined, every window is hand finished to the exacting high standard of time served craftsmen. It is this high quality of manufacturing and craftsmanship that keeps our customers coming back to us time after time. Every window we make is made to measure and bespoke which gives you ultimate flexibility on size, glazing bar width, curved elements etc. We can design nearly infinite configurations of transoms, mullions, and glazing bars, and produce detailed reproductions of historical joinery. The timber we use in the majority of our windows is redwood (softwood), sapele (harwood), or oak. All timber is engineered by laminating pieces together for extra dimensional stability. The softwood is laminated and finger jointed so that all knots can be taken out, leaving knot free, stable timber to produce joinery. Weeping, resinous knots are a thing of the past resulting in extremely durable windows that will last for years. Even our softwood windows come with sapele hardwood cills as standard, as it is the cill that takes the most punishment from rain and sun
