Massage: Various forms of massage are practised by Heather Dawn and these may be combined to provide the most appropriate protocol for your needs.
Tuina: Is Chinese physical therapy. This stimulating style of deep massage is usually performed over clothing but can also be performed with oil. Tuina utilises a steady motion through the body while applying pressure and mobilisation to the muscles and joints.
Thai Massage (Table Top): Incorporates deep pressure using hands, arms and elbows. A variety of stretches can also be used to release deep tension. Thai massage techniques are normally applied through clothing but can be incorporated into a massage treatment that includes the use of oils.
Deep Tissue Massage: Is performed deeper into the muscles to release tension.
Relaxation Massage: Is performed slowly and superficially to induce a pure state of perfect relaxation.
Hot Stone Massage: Is a specialty massage. Smooth basalt and jade stones are heated and used as an extension of the hands. They are also placed on specific areas of the body such as the hands, between toes and along the chakra centres. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and soothing for tight muscles. Cold marble stones can be utilised in combination with hot stones to ease deep tension.
Indian Head Massage: Is a gentle technique based on ayurvedic philosophy. A variety of massage strokes are used, including deep kneading and compression movements over the neck and shoulders and gentle manipulation of the scalp. Pressure points on the face and neck can also be incorporated into the session.
