A Tactile Hazard Warning Label is designed specifically to aid blind and visually impaired people to distinguish dangerous substances. Legislation dictates that all substances readily available to the public identified, as toxic, very toxic, harmful, extremely flammable, or corrosive and any aerosol propelled by butane must have a tactile warning label to alert the blind or partially sighted that they are handling a dangerous product.   The Tactile Hazard Warning Label consists of a raised equilateral triangle or 3 raised dots forming the points of an equilateral triangle as specified by BS EN ISO 11683: 1997. The Tactile Hazard Warning may be either incorporated onto your existing label design or applied as a separate label. The label material is a transparent polypropylene enabling the orange warning to show through where necessary.  The labels are supplied on reels and can be configured for machine or hand application. The use of tactile labels, although not compulsory opens up a new market for your product that others may not be offering.   OPM have recently developed a process using tactile varnish. It is a highly decorative process that also adds functional benefits to your product label in the form of increased grip – ideal for products used in wet condition, like the bathroom. When added as a design feature tactile raised images can increase the decorative detail effects on self adhesive product labels.   Potential Applications Braille instructions Grip strips Hazardous chemical warnings Decorative designs requiring a raised patterned surface
