Redundancy is rarely a situation that anyone wishes to manage, however it is vital to manage the process professionally for all people that will be affected – both those who will be made redundant and staff who are left and will be feeling uncertain about their own future.

Facing redundancy and certainly being made redundant are extremely stressful and the individuals concerned are often not in the best position to put themselves back in the job market. Feelings of anger, confusion, anxiety and isolation need to be handled with care so that people can find a way forward.

A good company will look to provide support and assistance to cushion the blow and help their staff to make the transition. Research shows that an external outplacement service is better received and more effective that “in-house” measures – an external consultant is more often seen as part of the solution whereas in-house managers are seen as part of the problem. This also has a positive effect on staff remaining within the organisation as they see that the company has been as helpful as possible in a very fraught situation.

Our trained counsellors at Elementary Resources will work with you to put together a programme appropriate to the needs of the individuals.

We also provide one to one career counselling for individuals where they have not been provided with this service by their former company.
