A new website providing the tools and resources to run a successful marketing agency has been launched by Secret Millionaire’ and ex-agency owner Carl Hopkins.

www.agencybods.co.uk which began its life a year ago as an online recruitment service for marketing agency people, is diversifying to become a ‘one-stop online support shop and knowledge hub’ for marketing agencies.

The new website will be aimed at growing and start-up agencies, giving them access to the key resources and services of a larger agency but without the associated costs. Some resources will also be completely free of charge.

Online HR management software, employee benefit schemes and training courses as well as financial support are just some of the areas in which agencybods.co.uk will offer reduced cost resources and advice thanks to exclusive deals with specialist providers chosen by Hopkins.

Human resources management specialist Abeceder will provide agency specific training agency focused employee benefits programmes while AccountingOnlineUK.com will offer support on all financial issues from accounting software to strategic direction. Online HR software will be available from £55 per month thanks to a deal with Myhrtoolkit.

Free of charge resources on the website include agency league tables, job descriptions, CV and interview tips and useful agency paperwork such as creative briefs and production specifications.

Hopkins believes the new website will be welcomed by many agencies, both those down-sizing due to the recession as well as the growing number of start-ups that are forming as talented individuals are let go.  It aims to become the first port of call for new or growing agencies that are looking to improve their services and offering.

Since launching last March agencybods.co.uk, which sees itself as a ‘talent brokerage’ rather than a traditional recruitment agency, has achieved its target of placing three candidates a month. An average of 17 new people visit the site each day to register their details and find new jobs within the agency world.

Speaking about the extensions to the agencybods.co.uk portfolio of services Hopkins says: “I launched agencybods.co.uk, not because I wanted to get into recruitment, but because, having been at the receiving end of recruitment consultants for many years, I wanted to provide an alternative solution for agency owners, helping them find the right talent with a service that was better suited to their needs. The new website is an extension of this and a reflection of the current needs of agencies and jobseekers.

agencybods was launched by Carl Hopkins, the former chairman of full service agency JDA, in March 2008 with just £800 investment and a four page website. His aim was to offer employers an alternative choice to the inappropriate candidates, un-vetted CV’s, high fees, quick payment terms and no shared risk offered by traditional recruitment agencies.

As a result agencybods.co.uk was established with a focus on quality rather than quantity and a flat fee of 10% regardless of salary level. The agency also shares the risk by giving a 50% refund if the candidate does not pass their three month probationary period and will not accept a successfully placed candidate’s details again within six month’s of their appointment.
