The Hamblin Trust
Spiritual Art, spiritual journey, Labyrinth
Facilitator: Sarah O’Brien-Twohig
Sarah O’Brien-Twohig was for thirty years a modernist art historian and broadcaster with a focus on the spiritual in art. She now enjoys being a lifelong enquirer into links between esoteric astrology, astronomy, archeo-astronomy and the sacred sciences, which she is happy to share with others in her workshops.
This afternoon Sarah will introduce us to the sacred space of the labyrinth, the spiralling pathway used in cultures worldwide since the Bronze Age to symbolize womb, Earth, solar system, spiritual journey.
The purpose of a labyrinth is to lead us on a symbolic meditative journey to its centre.
Surrounded by the May blooms in Hamblin Hall garden, you will be invited to experience intuitively the twists and turns of the labyrinth path.
Leading inwards only to spin out again several times before reaching the centre, the labyrinth also enables us to experience the persistence and trust needed on our spiritual journey.
