Slow puncture repair
Hometyre Ashington - Mobile Tyre Service

A slow puncture can be caused by a number of things, such as:
1. A foreign object stuck in the tyre. - If the object is in the central 3/4 of the tread area, then it can be repaired as per a normal puncture.
2. Corrosion of the rim causing a leak around the rim. - The tyre is removed, the corrosion is cleaned off, a bead sealer is added to the rim and the tyre refitted.
3. A faulty valve. - The tyre is removed, the valve is replaced and the tyre is refitted.
4. A crack in the alloy. - This cannot be repaired by us, you will either need a new wheel, or get the old one welded.
We at Hometyre can carry out the repairs in the cases 1 to 3, we will come to you to do the work at a time and place of your choice.
