The First Aid at Work course helps reduce the effect of injury or illness suffered whether caused by work itself or not, it benefits the workplace by reducing lost time and costs whilst also providing the responsible person with the confidence and competence to administer first aid in the event of an accident or injury.
Course Content includes:
Legalities and responsibilities and reporting
Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
Assessment of the situation
Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
Wounds and Bleeding
Preventing cross infection
Recording incidents and actions
The use of available equipment
Sprains and strains
Minor burns and scalds
Duration: 3 days
Maximum number of candidates: 10
Entry requirements: Candidates must be aged 14+, and be physically fit to carry out the procedures in the course content and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Assessment: A practical assessment will be continuous throughout the course.
