Stroke patients at Good Hope Hospital received a boost when Medinet staff presented a brand new 50" flat screen television to them. Donating the television has meant that patients are now able to play on the ward's Wii Fit game which helps their coordination, balance and motivation, following a stroke.
Clinical Nurse Specialist, Lynn Robinson explains: "People often experience a physical and psychological impact after suffering a stroke and may need months of rehabilitation to get well; so a stimulating activity such as this is really beneficial. Many patients involve family members in the game, now we have such a large screen to use, and enjoy themselves so much they forget they're actually doing their rehab!"
Pictured are (L-R) Blanche Benouakhil, Sister, Andrea Cartner, Ward Manager, Mark Danter, Medinet Office Manager, Linzi Sandbrook, Medinet Business Development Manager, and Lynn Robinson, Clinical Nurse Specialist. All with the new television on the Stroke Unit at Good Hope Hospital.
