In April 2000, Bidford-based water cooler supplier, AquAid, pioneered the ‘Water is Cool in Schools’ campaign in collaboration with ERIC, a national children’s health charity. ‘Water is Cool in Schools’ is a national campaign to improve the quality of provision and access to fresh drinking water for all pupils in UK primary and secondary schools. This campaign is now celebrating its 10th anniversary and AquAid are proud to have supplied thousands of schools during this time.
AquAid (Midlands and South Wales) MD, Tim Lively, takes up the story, “Ten years ago, hydration was not considered important. We’ve come a long way since then and nowadays, most schools are fully aware of the importance of water in improving concentration levels.
In the last decade, we have supplied thousands of schools throughout the Midlands and South Wales. And for every plumbed-in machine supplied, AquAid donates £20 per annum towards installing water pumps for children in Africa. To date AquAid has helped more than 6 million people in Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Burkina Faso and Malawi gain access to clean and safe drinking water.”
Schools can also sponsor their own water pump. If four water cooler systems are installed, AquAid will build a pump featuring the school’s name. The school will then receive a thank you pack including a certificate, letters from teachers and children and a photograph of their pump.
AquAid is the number one supplier of water coolers to schools in the UK. We offer a package designed specifically for schools’ needs including s, free sports cap bottles, special rates which include rental, installation and servicing and guaranteed next day service.
