Independent ceiling – retain existing ceiling: Construct wooden 100x50mm baton frame, leave a gap of approx. 25mm from the original ceiling. Insert AMW60 100mm 60kg/m3 density acoustic wool, resilient bar with 1st layer of 19mm high density planc plasterboard. All cavities and gaps will be filled with acoustic mastic which will form an air tight barrier. A final layer of 12.5mm acoustic plasterboard will then be added.
