It's not just Suffolk and Norfolk Cladding that feel "Regeneration" will make a significant difference to the economy over the next 12 months.
Peter Masters, Suffolk & Norfolk's Sales & Marketing Manager said, "There is positive feeling across the board, not just with better than expected results from the residential building sector, but also within the commercial and industrial sectors; this is very much in line with what our senior management anticipated earlier this year. Regeneration seems to be the keyword as far as Suffolk and Norfolk Cladding is concerned and it's very encouraging to hear positive comments from major suppliers we work with on a regular basis. If a company as established and dominant as Kingspan feel confident about the future, then so should the rest of the sector."
DUBLIN: May (Reuters) - Irish building materials group Kingspan (KSP.I) said monthly sales improved year-on-year for the first time in 30 months in April, as it recovered from a from slow start to the year caused by cold weather. Kingspan (KSP.L) expected first-half operating profit to fall by 10 percent but saw a noticeable pick-up in activity levels following unusually severe weather in Britain and Ireland, where it is the No.1 producer of insulation. About 70 percent of Kingspan's products are shipped straight to building sites, where work can be halted or delayed by bad weather. The group said that pick-up -- most noticeable in Britain, where Kingspan said market conditions have been stable -- was expected to continue. "The fact that sales are down just six percent at the end of four months just gives you an indication of the pick up that there was in March and April," Chief Executive Gene Murtagh told reporters on the sidelines of a shareholder meeting. Kingspan, which makes construction industry supplies from raised access floors to timber frames, said the sense of nervousness that prevailed in all of its markets a year ago was less evident now and it was cautiously optimistic for 2010. Insulation rival SIG also said on Thursday that cold weather had hit its first-quarter sales but that normal seasonal conditions had seen a continuing reduction in the rate of decline.
