Who is this course for?

This course has been designed for those such as plumbers and central heating or kitchen installers – who may want to carry out limited scope electrical work as part of their own overall business in domestic premises.

Building Regulations:

Recent changes to Part P of the Building Regulations now mean that it is illegal for an unqualified installer to carry out certain types of electrical work in domestic dwellings.

Join a Competent Person’s Scheme:

Being a member of a Competent Person’s Scheme allows the installer to self-certify their electrical work and the scheme provider will notify the Building Control Department on the installer’s behalf.

Previous experience:

We recommend that candidates have some previous electrical experience before undertaking this course.  The safety of both the installer and the customer is of utmost importance.  This course is designed to ensure that simple and safe installation practices are established from the start and that they are followed throughout the duration.
