Who is this course for?
This course has been designed for those such as plumbers and
central heating or kitchen installers – who may want to carry out limited scope
electrical work as part of their own overall business in domestic premises.
Recent changes to Part P of the Building Regulations now mean
that it is illegal for an unqualified installer to carry out certain types of
electrical work in domestic dwellings.
Join a Competent Person’s
Being a member of a Competent Person’s Scheme allows the
installer to self-certify their electrical work and the scheme provider will
notify the Building Control Department on the installer’s behalf.
We recommend that candidates have some previous electrical
experience before undertaking this course.
The safety of both the installer and the customer is of utmost
importance. This course is designed to
ensure that simple and safe installation practices are established from the
start and that they are followed throughout the duration.
