BIRDSONG RECOGNITION WALK . . . Is it a Robin or a Blackbird? . . . Why do

This is a friendly,
informative walk for beginners and those that are more experienced at
identification. Information sheets will be given out and recording samples
available to listen to after the walk. Bring binoculars if you have

In the evening Saffron will be performing a House Concert in Gleanings,

Saffron Summerfield is a singer/songwriter/image maker. A highly
respected singer and guitarist (one of the few women bottle-neck, guitarists in
the UK) Saffron has a back catalogue of recordings from the mid seventies that
still sell around the world. Recent reissues of ‘SALISBURY PLAIN‘ &
‘FANCY MEETING YOU HERE‘ in Japan and South Korea.
Saffron has written
songs for television including two Channel 4 Films& BBC radio R4′s ‘Start
the Week’. She has played at many major UK folk festivals and toured abroad in
Europe, USA, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.
Saffron’s most recent release -
‘HALCYON’ - received excellent reviews with many airplays on BBC Local
Radio, BBC 6 Live, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC Radio Belfast and many radio
stations in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, USA and Germany.
