In order to work as a door supervisor in the UK you must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence. A door supervisor is classed as carrying out manned guarding activities, which are undertaken in relation to licensed premises, except where the activity only involves the use of CCTV equipment or falls within the definition of cash and valuables in transit or close protection. The door supervisor course is split into four sections. All four components must have been completed and passed in order for candidates to apply to the SIA for their Door Supervisor Licence. If any candidates fail to pass any of the modules then a free re-sit is available. This course is fully certified with fully qualified instructors including a Nationally Accredited Awarding Body Certificate to deliver both Basic and Advanced Physical Intervention. The course is held over 4 or 5 days depending if the candidate decides participate on the Advanced Physical Intervention.
