BIG is celebrating after receiving international recognition for its green credentials earning an Honourable Mention in The Green Dot Awards when judges in Los Angeles, California acknowledged the company’s forward-thinking environmentally friendly approach to work.
Celebrating eco excellence, the Green Dot Awards reward and promote pioneering businesses that create environmentally friendly products or services. Founded by graphics and publishing specialist Ned Hoste, BIG is a region-wide team of top quality industry professionals who all run their own businesses and operate together within a virtual hub. Keeping costs and carbon emissions low, BIG’s team offer their combined expertise to benefit their clients where and when they need them.
BIG’s virtual office operates on the web in real time, giving the team access to updates, documents, databases, time sheets and team diaries whenever they choose. Administrative, accounting and virtual front line duties are conducted via email and the web to reduce paper consumption to a bare minimum. The company also supports the Earth Hour initiative. This global campaign actively promotes green thinking and the need for urgent action on climate change.
Catching the eye of the Green Dot Awards judging panel, with no bricks and mortar base or commute for staff, this new business approach has immediate and obvious benefits, as the company saves many tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. Delighted with their international recognition company co-director Jacky Fitt said: “Businesses can and should play a major role in mitigating their consumption wherever possible. Our business model proves this is possible at no cost to creativity or excellence.”
