Lavender Essential Oil is extracted from the leaves of the evergreen shrub. It is cultivated in southern Europe and in countries as far apart as Australia and Britain.

Lavender oil was a favourite bath time cleaner for the ancient Romans and has been used to speed healing.

The essential oil is one of the most commonly used. It is both relaxing and stimulating, a powerful antiseptic and healer, and it calms, refreshes, invigorates and lifts the spirits.

In aromatherapy Lavender Essential Oil is excellent for tension, tiredness or depression, skin problems and aches or pains. Because it is so gentle, it may be applied undiluted to burnt skin or insect bites and is safe to use during pregnancy.
