Engineer’s Report for Written off Car for Insurance Company Write- Off Inspection
People require these inspections when they have bought (or have repaired) a ‘Damaged Repaired’ vehicle and want to re-insure it. Most insurance companies insist on this report to ensure that the repairs have been completed to a ‘Roadworthy Standard’. Please check with your insurer to see if they require this.
Cars and vans involved in an accident can fall into a category Rated A,B,C,D or F when it comes to repairable salvage. We offer roadworthy vehicle inspections to all vehicles that are put back on the road after a collision. Roadworthy vehicle inspections for insurance purposes need to be carefully assessed before the vehicles are allowed to be put back on the roads. We can examine the standard of repair as to whether it is up to insurance company standards.
A car may be called a write-off or total loss by an insurance company under the following categories:
• A: a vehicle which should have been totally crushed, including all its spare parts
• B: a vehicle from which parts may be salvaged but the body shell should have been crushed and the car should never return to the road
• C: an extensively damaged vehicle which the insurer has decided not to repair, but which could be repaired and returned to the road
• D: a damaged vehicle which the insurer has decided not to repair but which could be repaired and returned to the road
• F: a vehicle damaged by fire, which the insurer has decided not to but which could be repaired and made roadworthy.
