A Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document that allows you to
appoint someone that you trust as an ‘attorney’ or representative to make
decisions on your behalf should you reach as state where you are no longer wish
to, or are unable to do so for yourself.
There are two types of LPA:
Financial : allows
you to nominated an ‘attorney’ to make decisions relating to your financial well
being, such as bank accounts, payment of bills, sale of property etc.
Health Care : allows
you to nominated an ‘attorney’ to make decisions relating to the use or refusal
of treatment, along with your general health and welfare of the Donor
Just as your Will details your wishes and plans to provide for your
family, a Lasting Power of Attorney can provide security for your family if you
become incapacitated for any reason.
