For a funeral, a piper would usually wear more of a plain uniform, though some clients prefer the full Highland dress uniform for effect. The piper would walk in front of the hearse and play for a short distance before the coffin is removed from the vehicle. He would then play the coffin in to the church or crematorium. The bagpiper will also play at intervals during the service if needed.
If he is required to do so, he will be happy to play during the commital or burial.
