Green-Works is an award winning, leading social enterprise and registered charity, delivering a unique environmental solution for companies with surplus office furniture. Avoiding land filling by identifying deserving causes where it can be can re-used; re-manufactured “new from old” with the remainder recycled. Working with physically and socially disadvantaged people in depots throughout the UK helps to achieve the twin goals of zero waste and support in the community.
Green-Works provides environmental solutions by ensuring all items are diverted from landfill, our first goal is to find a new home where the items can be reused, this is the most environmentally friendly option, being 100% recycled and also benefits many other companies who can purchase the items for a fraction of the original price. Secondly we offer the option to have bespoke furniture made in our Joinery department taking the best materials from old items and making something new, which provides a significant reduction in energy used when compared to producing a brand new item. The joinery option enables you to create and design your office to fit your exact requirements.
Green-Works also runs a programme in Africa, donating furniture to war-torn communities in Sierra Leone helping to rebuild schools, hospitals, NGO’s. Any furniture that can not be reused in anyway, Green-Works will ensure it gets recycled in the correct and most environmentally friendly way.
