Achilleus SIA licensed door supervisor
SIA(Security Industry Authority) licensed door supervisors are of paramount importance. They are primarily required to work within the entertainment and leisure industries and so an adaptable nature and an ability to multi-skill are crucial. Door supervisors work within many licensed venues and environments including bars, clubs, theatres, cinemas and festivals as well as outdoor and sporting events. Hence, today’s door supervisor is required to deal with a variety of situations and event spaces.
The perception of the security industry has changed dramatically. The stereotypical “bouncer” image where you had to “look the part and handle yourself” is no longer relevant. (As the new door supervisor role is now more focused on customer service and safety.)
Achilleus’ licensed door supervisors operate in line with current industry legislation and guidelines and best practice including BS 7960:2009 – the official British Standard for Door Supervisors.
Door supervisors must be customer and visitor-friendly, approachable, have excellent communications skills and be able to meet and greet your customers or guests. At the same time, a door supervisor must also be able to professionally handle conflict situations, diffusing a scenario before it escalates.
Today’s door supervisors must be good communicators and presentable with qualifications in:
NVQ Level 2 in Door Supervision
Customer service (Level 2 NVQ)
Conflict management (Level 2 City and Guilds)
Crowd management/Spectator safety (Level 2 and 3 NVQ)
First aid (Basic and First Aid at Work)
Physical intervention/restraint (Level 2 City and Guilds)
Searching (Level 2 NVQ)
Health and safety (Level 2 NVQ)
Supervisory skills (Level 3 NVQ)
Fire Awareness and Fire Marshall
In addition, door supervisors should have a working knowledge of risk management, law and prevention of terrorism. Since April 2012 we have had over 150 of our staff attend both Project Argus and Project Griffin course. These courses we believe are vital in the fight against terror in this country. These courses also provide valuable information in relation to how to respond both before and after a terrorist incident.
These skills and others can be expected of an Achilleus door supervisor.
Screening and vetting
All Achilleus personnel are screened to the highest levels. Our SIA licensed door supervisors are professional, highly trained and screened to a 10-year standard in line with BS 7858:2006 and A2:2009.
Whether you require licensed door supervisors to meet and greet customers, answer visitor queries about your event or venue, give directions or manage access control, prevent unauthorised access or remove unsuitable visitors, Achilleus provides reliable, customer focused and smart staff that can handle a multitude of tasks.
Our licensed door supervisors are motivated individuals that are able to work not only as part of a team but also under their own guidance and initiative.
