Day 1: Arrive Luxor (Monday) Upon arrival at Luxor airport, a tour representative will meet you to assist with all formalities, and transfer you to your cruise boat. Dinner and overnight on board the boat in Luxor. Day 2: Luxor West Bank Tour (Tuesday) Breakfast on board the boat, and spend the morning at leisure. You will then visit the West Bank of Luxor. See the Valley of the Kings, site of pharaonic burials, and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, dedicated to the only female ruler of Ancient Egypt. Marvel at the Colossi of Memnon, before returning to the M/S Nile for dinner and a second night on board the boat in Luxor. Day 3: Luxor – Esna – Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan (Wednesday) Enjoy breakfast on board as you set sail for Esna. The Temple of Esna, dedicated to the triad of Khnum, Neith, and Heka was remarkable for the beauty of its site and magnificence of its architecture. Lunch on board the boat and sail on to Edfu Temple, known in Greco-Roman times as Apollonopolis Magna. You will also visit Kom Ombo Temple, an unusual double temple built during the Ptolemaic Dynasty, and featuring a Crocodile Museum and papyrus shaped columns. Sail to Aswan as you enjoy dinner and an overnight on board the cruise boat. Day 4: Aswan (Thursday) Breakfast and lunch will be served on board the M/S Nile before you visit Philae Temple, located on an island in the middle of Lake Nasser. Optional excursions to the unfinished Obelisk and High Dam are also available. Day 5: Aswan (Friday) Breakfast on board the M/S Nile and relax on the sundeck, or take an optional excursion to Abu Simbel in the morning. The Abu Simbel complex is situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser, about 140 miles (230 kilometers) southwest of Aswan. Originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II, the twin temples were dramatically relocated to avoid their being submerged during the creation of Lake Nasser. UNESCO designated Abu Simbel a World Heritage Site in 1979. Enjoy lunch on board the boat, then take a felucca trip on the Nile, with an optional excursion to Kitchener’s Island, an oasis of green palm trees and botanical gardens. Day 6: Aswan – Kom Ombo (Saturday) Breakfast on board the boat, and spend the morning at leisure as you cruise back towards Luxor. Enjoy lunch as you sail to Kom Ombo, where you will rest for dinner and an overnight stay on board the M/S Nile. Day 7: Kom Ombo – Edfu – Esna – Luxor (Sunday) Continue sailing to Edfu, crossing the lock at Esna. Upon arrival in Luxor, disembark the M/S Nile and tour the East Bank, visiting Luxor Temple and Karnak Temple. The Luxor Temple Complex is one of the largest in Egypt and was once known as the capital of the entire world. Admire the reliefs, columns, sphinxes, and statues. Continue to the the Karnak Temple Complex, where a vast array of decayed temples, chapels, pylons, and other buildings await. See the Pillars of the Great Hypostyle Hall, the Precinct of Amun Re, the Precinct of Mut, and more. Return to the M/S Nile for your final night on board. Day 8: Luxor – Departure (Monday) As your tour comes to an end, enjoy a final breakfast on board the boat, disembark, and transfer to Luxor Airport for your flight home.
