TMJ Treatment

By: The London Centre For Cosmetic Dentistry  18/09/2013

The temporomandibular joint connects the lower jawbone with the upper jawbone. If this joint is out of alignment or the muscles surrounding the joint are inflamed, it can result in TMJ disorder. The symptoms of TMJ disorder include headaches, jaw aches, tenderness, dizziness, and prominent clicking or popping sounds while opening the jaw. At The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry, we work with a TMJ specialist to assist our patient suffering from this condition. In most cases, the symptoms can be greatly alleviated through jaw and mouth exercises and the use of a specially designed mouth guard. Our associate is an expert in the treatment of TMJ disorder, and lectures at London University on the subject.
