Functional Testing is the Testing of all features and functions of a system to ensure that requirements and specifications are met. Functional testing falls within the scope of black box testing, and as such, should require no knowledge of the coding behind the software. The functionality of the system is tested by providing appropriate input, verifying the output and comparing the actual results with the expected results. This testing involves checking of User Interface, APIs, Security, client/ server applications and functionality of the Application under test. The testing can be done either manually or using automation. Functional testing types are Unit Testing, Smoke Testing, Sanity Testing, Integration Testing, White box testing, Black Box testing, User Acceptance testing, Regression Testing. We at TestingXperts are well versed with the challenges thrown in by the different corners of Black Box Testing. We do have domain expertise in various domains like BFSI, airline, retail, manufacturing, electronics etc. and we involve business function experts to get wider test coverage.
