Rhino Security London supplies SIA registered close protection specialists (note this is a separate licensable activity under Home Office legislation / SIA rules)  for businessmen, celebrities, entertainers and musicians as well as to   music venues (Brixton Academy), music companies PlayLouder.com) and media companies (DVDVIllage)  for multi client use

We choose, dress, and  our personnel in line with our clients requirements.  All our staff are SIA Close Protection   registered  in line with current UK legislation which includes police vetting and appropriate training including, health & safety, fire safety, first aid, crowd control techniques and  other necessary skills. We only employ ex UK army a with preference for ex Parachute Regiment or  Special Forces personnel from personal recommendations.  We also require from our client an in depth consultation and risk/threat assessment which will be  treated with the utmost confidentiality.  We also advise that any contact is taken on a trial basis from both the client and operatives perspective.  Where a Close Protection Team is required we will only employ (ex) Sandhurst trained army officers as Team Leaders.  For overseas work  - especially non EC - we will only employ operatives with the relevant in country  experience. In some circumstances vetting of the client’s own staff and key contacts may be recommended.

To ensure our staff fit our client requirement's security.   We  look closely at

1. background.  We only employ  staff with at least 5 years military / police experience and who have excellent references and at least one years experience in close protection or related roles .  Typically our close protection operatives have been  undertaking close protect or related work for at least three years and have a  stable home life.   For key personnel or where the employee will be working on tour, or a particularly sensitive or demanding roles we require officer level experience and a proven   track record of sound judgment and  good client management post army /police.  We strongly  recommend using older more experienced personnel for these kind of positions as the wide range of situations and sensitivities involved in close protection work (particularly overseas)  is simply too much for personnel with less than five years experience

2. physique.  It is not essential for security to be well built but it can highly desirable as a deterrent particularly where a lot of crowd work will be required .  However   some of our business clients specifically prefer lighter built personnel who will blend into the environment especially in social situations.   In our opinion clients should consider having mixed teams with specific personnel being called in to match each occasion (eg dinner in a London restaurant vs travel to former Soviet Union / Eastern Bloc countries)

3. character. All Rhino Security staff are vetted and we will not take on applicants for close protection work without a personal recommendation from a trusted source.   For close protection  intelligence, awareness and self control are  of the upmost importance in being able to handle clients who are often very demanding and  where very long hours are required

4. interpersonal skills.  All Rhino Security are taught the importance of being polite at all times.  However close protection work requires the highest  high levels of competence and an ability to immediately classify, evaluate and take appropriate action across a wide range of situations and threats.  Much of the work is preventative and often not appreciated.  Operatives must also be able to handle long periods of low intensity work  which still remaining 100% alert and be able to manage their client’s appropriately

5. dress code.  We strongly advocate security being dressed smartly except where a particular situation demands otherwise.  We tend not to like  "bomber jackets" "caps" or other inappropriate attire.   We are  flexible if client’s have particular dress requirements including corporate badging or uniforms subject to it not undermining security imperatives

6. equipment. Again this varies from assignment  to  assignment but in general we recommend miniaturized covert radios with covert earpieces.  Hand held metal detectors ("wands") can also be desirable in some circumstances.  Training and testing with client own security and communication  systems (eg CCTV)  is absolutely essential as is a proper control system and documentation procedures (ideally post event verifiable).

As well as selecting the right close protection operative  for an individual  it is also essential that   a monthly (or more frequent where necessary) review process with clear targets is put in place to ensure efficiency is maintained and the risk / threat assessment is kept updated.

One of the key financial advantages of using first class close protection operatives  and Rhino Security London in particular is that we may be able to reduce costs whilst at the same time improving  safety AND you may well need less security than you currently employ.  We can also provide random inspections and other unannounced  testing to ensure our security operate at the highest levels of efficiency and professionalism

Rhino Security London  charge are competitive and we can often provide an indicative quote after a short consultation  quote  (note overnight, weekend supplements, travel  may apply). If you are interested in a confidential review of your security requirements  at your venue we recommend calling Shannon  O'Sullivan on 020 77735 2246.  Any discussion will be treated confidentially and there is no obligation.
