Happy Christmas from Spain!
Indalo Art, in association with online retailer Good Luck Gifts, is offering some truly unique Christmas presents from Spain such as this ruby red dichroic glass pendant jewellery which features the lucky Indalo symbol of Spain - for inspiration and to pass on people's Good Luck wishes.
In Spain, the Christmas season officially begins on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception. In Andalucía, it is celebrated in front of the great Gothic cathedral in Seville with a ceremony and dance called 'los Seises'. On Christmas Eve (Spanish Nochebuena) as the stars come out, tiny oil lamps are lit in every house, and after Midnight Mass and Christmas Dinner, people fill the streets and some dance to the sound of small guitars, gourd rattles, tambourines and castanets. Many homes have a manger or belén, like the cathedrals and churches. These are complete with carved figures. Spanish children think of the Three Kings (los Reyes Magos) as the gift bearers. Tradition has it that they arrive on January 6th, the date the Wise Men gave gifts to baby Jesus (and the start of the feast of Epiphany). Shoes are filled with straw or barley for the tired camels/horses/donkeys that must carry their riders through the night. By morning the food is gone and in place of the straw or barley are presents.
Now people can say Happy Christmas to a friend / relative by sending a unique gift from Spain from Indalo Art.
