PING G15 Fairway Wood The elongated, low profile design of the G15 Fairway Wood offers a long, forgiving option for golfers who rely on the confidence of a larger head. An external weight pad on the sole of the stainless steel head positions the center-of-gravity low and farther back to provide higher trajectories and increased distance. Its low spin feature is the result of the low profile design.
Design and Technology
Constructed of 17-4 stainless steel, the Ping G15 features an "elongated, low profile" design for additional forgiveness and to make it easier to use on a variety of lies. That larger head gives you more confidence when standing over your next shot.
The Ping G15 Fairway Wood sole features an external weight pad which allowed the PING engineers to move the center of gravity low and and farther back to give you a higher trajectory and increased that ever so important increased distance. High launch and more distance is quite fine with me.
While it may be too soon to declare that the Ping G15 has overtaken the G10, it is certainly becoming a worthy sequel. You always hear that the sequel is never as good as the original, and while that may still be the case with the Ping G15 and G10, the latest addition is definitely providing a solid contribution to the G10's solid reputation.
Just like the rest of Ping's latest clubs, the Ping G15 is one of the best looking clubs on the market. It perfectly blends a metallic shine with sharp, contrasting colors to create one of the most visually pleasing fairway woods on the shelf.
