Knee pain is pain arising from the anatomical region of the knee. It may follow a traumatic onset (eg. sports injury) or be related to age-related degenerative change.
Chiropractic Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis
Chiropractors treat knee pain using a package of care that may include manual therapies, acupuncture, exercise prescription and onward referral when indicated.
Clinical studies indicate that chiropractic adjustments involving manipulation and joint mobilisation in combination with exercise is effective in the treatment of Knee Arthritis.
Often, our patients with knee pain will be recommended to have their gait analysed using the TOG Gait Scan to assess for any imbalances in the foot. Due to the lower limb working as a chain, patients with flat feet, pronation or supination may experience knee or even hip and low back pain due to this kinematic chain.
