Writing for Self Discovery - Sat-17th October 2015 – 28th November 2015 - London Charmaine Pollard will be facilitating a six week therapeutic writing group, based on reading and writing poetry to promote health and wellbeing. Poetry Therapy is the intentional use of poetry and other forms of literature for healing and personal growth. Research over the last 30 years has found links between writing, health and wellbeing. You will gain an opportunity to experience ways in which creative and expressive writing can help you improve your confidence and self esteem. Who should attend This group is for anyone interested in the ways writing and poetry can enhance wellbeing, including students, writers, counsellors, therapists and teachers. No previous experience of reading or writing poetry or creative writing is required, only a willingness to experiment with words. Group details The group takes place on: Saturday 17th October 2015 – 28th November 2015 at Clapton Library London with a break half way through. Starting time 11.00a.m. The Nearest Overground and British Rail: Clapton- 368 metres from the library – 10 mins by train from Central London (Liverpool Street Station). The Nearest Underground: Manor House (Piccadilly Line). The group will last for 2 hours. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. I can provide attendance certificates for those using the group for continuing professional development (CPD) purposes. Please bring a notebook and pen.
