UBIFRANCE, France’s export-support agency, has launched the first iPhone application devoted to the international development of French-based companies. This free, multilingual application (in 13 languages) facilitates access to export markets by providing a simple, efficient service, which is updated by every one of UBIFRANCE’s 63 offices across 44 countries.
Mohamed Khodja, Head of Online Marketing at UBIFRANCE, says: “By positioning ourselves on the mobile internet, we will be able to better support French companies and to enhance their standing with international operators. We are very proud of this application, which has been developed to perfectly meet the needs and expectations of the companies we support.”
The launch of UBIFRANCE’s iPhone application follows the 2010 online activation of the new ubifrance.fr website and of the ubifrance.com platform (which, from next year, will host more than 50 blogs in foreign languages), as well as the inclusion of social media in UBIFRANCE’s internet marketing strategy.
This iPhone application is the first in a series of mobile applications: UBIFRANCE will launch a version for the Android and the blackberry in the first half of 2011.
The UBIFRANCE iPhone application offers a number of attractive features. For example, it provides real-time content about the latest market developments, broken down by business sector and geographical area according to pre-set user parameters. All content can be shared directly via email, Twitter and Facebook.
With one click, users can access the entire range of UBIFRANCE services (including contacts with local representatives, organised by sector). This application also features a schedule of trade shows and international events that are broken down by sector and geographical area, and includes a list of the French companies that will attend.
Additionally, the application offers country-specific access in the local language (currently available for 13 countries) for non-French professionals looking to initiate commercial relations with French-based companies in their home market. This will later be extended to over 50 countries. By early 2011, the application will include a tab for the VIE scheme (France’s post-graduate employment scheme), including a multi-criteria search engine for job offers.
