Marketing at Retail (MPV), the biennial trade show dedicated to marketing solutions for the retail sector, will have a stand at the EUROSHOP trade fair, which takes place in Düsseldorf (Germany) from 26 February to 2 March 2011. MPV will be taking part in EUROSHOP in order to develop relationships with international businesses and unveil key aspects of the MPV 2012 event.
The MPV trade show brings together major international players in point-of-sale (POS) marketing over three days at the Paris Porte de Versailles exhibition centre, in the French capital. This trade show has experienced considerable growth over the past few years, with the number of exhibitors up by 20% in 2010 as compared to 2008, and the number of visitors up by 5% over the same period.
In 2012, the MPV trade show will showcase five sectors, each of which plays an important role in today’s retail market (as follows). The organisers of MPV 2012 will place a number of new sectors in the spotlight.
The POS and Advertising Fittings sector will include point-of-sale advertising, point-of-sale information, display stands and testers. The point-of-sale advertising sector, more particularly, has been a mainstay of the trade show.
For its part, the Shop Fittings/Retail Design sector will cover design agencies, store fittings and window dressing. The shop-fitting and retail-design sector has gained in size and importance, which will be reflected in the MPV trade show as a whole. This sector has contributed to the overall growth in the retail sector and is supported by retail chains and brands, which are looking to enhance their image.
The third sector to be showcased will be the Materials and Components area, which will include raw materials, flooring, LEDs, and wall mountings, while the POS, Digital Media and Mobile Marketing sector will comprise screens, content, software solutions, mobile solutions and integrators. As a vital tool in point-of-sale marketing, digital media has an important role to play at the MPV trade show. This booming sector now plays an integral part in retail stores’ and distributors’ strategies, and is, as a result, due to take up a key position at the 2012 trade show.
Finally, the Surveys, Merchandising and Sales Events sector will focus on shopper surveys and consultancies. This area will be centred on getting to know clients better, optimising marketing initiatives, measuring the performance of marketing initiatives, and encouraging purchasing.
A number of events will be available to visitors, such as themed conferences, exhibitor workshops, as well as presentations of future technologies and sustainable-development issues through the use of innovative materials.
The POPAI Awards ceremony (where POPAI stands for Point of Purchase Advertising International) will also take place at the event. This international contest rewards the best contributions in POS advertising, digital media, and shop fitting from about 20 participating countries.
The 2012 MPV trade show’s objective is to become the world’s trade event of reference in point-of-sale marketing. The next MPV trade show will take place at the Porte de Versailles exhibition centre in Paris (France) from 27 to 29 March 2012.
