London, England – Bales College, a private school and sixth form college, is offering boarding for students who are sixteen and older. These students have the option of choosing full boarding or weekly boarding depending on which option is feasible for their particular situation.
Full boarding and weekly boarding is available for students who are sixteen and older as well as students who are taking GCSE courses and A Level courses. Most students who are boarding are full-time boarders who live on site throughout the week and weekends while school is in term. Full time boarders are provided all meals, seven days a week. Their meals are served by catering staff and served in the main dining hall. They can also visit the kitchen for snacks.
Another alternative for students is weekly boarding. Some students have families who live in the UK but are too far from London to make daily travels to and from Bales practical. For these students, there is the option of weekly boarding. These students can stay at home on the weekends but stay at Bales College during the week so they don’t have to spend time traveling back and forth as much. Weekly students travel home on Fridays to be with their family and return to the College on Sunday night to prepare for the next day’s classes.
Their boarding school in London has both single and shared accommodations. Students are given rooms based on a first come first served basis, although they make an effort to accommodate students’ individual needs. There are two boarding houses at Bales. The Old Vicarage house is split on 3 levels. The ground and top floor has the rooms for boys, and the girls rooms are on the first floor. There is also a boarding house purely for girls- The East Cottage.
Two full time boarding supervisors live on campus to monitor the boarding accommodations. These supervisors also monitor supervised study sessions for boarding school students in the evening.
