Our Beef is a premium quality range of Scottish beef bred, raised and selected to produce the finest flavour. Our supplier is John Scott Meat a family business based in Paisley Scotland. Top quality meat has always been the key focus of the business since 1968 when several butchers in the Greenock area asked local farmer John Scott if he could supply them direct. The request was based on their appreciation of the reliable quality of livestock which they’d come to expect from the Scott family farm. From this simple start, John Scott Meat has grown into a business which today delivers meat to quality butchers, wholesalers and caterers throughout Scotland and the South East of England. John Scott Meat also has its own abattoir which gives complete control of its product from farm to customer. Which means consumers can have complete confidence in the quality and traceability in the Beef they supply to Morley Butchers. As well a meat from their own farm the company buys livestock direct from a tried and trusted group of farmers. The cattle graze outside during the spring and summer months on permanent pastures, over wintering and finishing indoors on straw bedding on a forage based diet. High welfare standards result in a better tasting product for consumers. John Scott Meat source cattle with the final taste being of the prime importance. The meat provided for Morley Butchers is well marbled and matured on the bone for between 21 and 28 days for extra flavour. This produces a succulent, full flavoured product. Great care is taken at all stages from the the selection of meat they send to us through to packaging and despatch.
