adventure sports, Zanzibar, Zambezi
The African Adventurer is a 28 day overland safari from Nairobi, Kenya to Livingstone, Zambia via Tanzania and Malawi. We head south from Nairobi to the sweeping plains of the Serengeti and into the Ngorongoro Crate where you can go on guided game drives with the chance to view the Big Five.
Visit a traditional Maasai village, markets and townships. Barter for African carvings in Malawi's craft markets. At Olduvai gorge we discover the origins of man. Catch a glimpse of Kilimanjaro's snow capped peaks as we journey to Dar Es Salaam. On Zanzibar, wander the alleyways of historical Stone Town, learn of the spice trade and dark history of the slave trade, scuba dive or snorkel at Mnemba Atoll, visit the Jozani forest to see red colobus monkeys or Prison Island to see the giant tortoises, or simply relax on the sandy beaches of this tropical island.
In Malawi, known as "Africa's warm heart" we enjoy a village meal and are entertained by traditional dancers. Lake Malawi offers further scuba diving opportunities or you can go horse riding along the beaches.
In the dry season Zambia's Luangwa River attracts wildlife from the surrounding area - we then visit South Luangwa to witness this. An evening game drive may afford a sighting of a secretive leopard, porcupine or honey badger. Our final destination is Livingstone where the Zambezi River casades over the Victoria Falls, This is Southern Africa's premier adventure capital with many activities available.
