This course covers learning how to use the sewing machine, right from threading up to sewing, how to measure yourself and how to understand the glossary on dressmaking patterns; the correct use of ironing tools and the over locker; different seams, hems and darts, zips and buttonholes as well as bindings and facings. We will finish some tips and tricks of how to cheat and/or make difficult looking things much easier. This is the beginners guide to dressmaking, at the end of the course you will have a portfolio of the basic skills you need to go off try out the dressmaking project that you want to!
Note: you will NOT be making a dress in these 6 sessions but learning all the skills involved in making basic garments.
