SWOPP03R Sapphire Window Fibre Optic Reflectance Probe

Aptifirst Ltd has launched a new addition to its range of SWOPP Sapphire Window Optical Process Probes, the SWOPP03R Reflectance Probe.
Ruggedly designed to fit a standard ½”-20-UNF threaded transducer port on extruders, injection moulding machines and other processing plant, the SWOPP03R allows on-line, real time spectroscopic observations to be undertaken using Near Infra-Red, Visible and Ultra-Violet light.
The SWOPP03R Probe is fitted with a sapphire window at the process interface, and has adjustable focus. The body of the probe is machined from type 316 stainless steel, and twin industry-standard SMA905 connectors are fitted to the rear of the probe, and will withstand pressures to 700 bars (10,000psi), and temperatures to 400°C.

It allows reflectance spectrometry on a wide range of in-process materials, which is extremely useful if, for example, the sample is opaque or the plant geometry does not permit the use of opposed transmission probes. Our SWOPP probes have applications in a wide range of industries including polymers, rubbers, food, pharmaceuticals, and defence. We are currently looking at an application for a probe for a shock tube, for observing gas reactions, and are always happy to look at probes for new applications.”
