PR486 Load Cell Amplifier has a wide choice of connectivity options

The PR486 range of precision load cell amplifiers has been added to Aptifirst's range of load and weight monitoring instruments. These robust instruments may be supplied DIN-rail mounting or wall-mounting in an IP66 housing, and with a choice of being either mains powered (85 to 264 VAC) or DC powered (12-36V DC). Additionally, there is a choice of connectivity, with models available with analogue outputs (4-20mA or 0-10V), serial communications (RS232 or RS485), DeviceNet, Profibus or Ethernet (Modbus). The amplifiers provide a stable 10V excitation voltage to the loadcells, and, with a maximum available current of 125mA, with sufficient power to enable up to four 350-ohm loadcells to be connected in parallel and their outputs, in effect, summed. The instruments are microprocessor based, with a resolution of 1 part in 65,000 (approx 16 bits, or 0.0015% of full scale), and have fitted a low-pass filter which is selectable between 0.2 and 20Hz. Dual trip alarm relay outputs are provided with several models, allowing high or low weight conditions to be flagged.
