The Long Island Iced Tea was the most popular cocktail at a party the Cocktail Shaker Boys helped out at in Market Harborough recently.

It is strongly alcoholic, and really helped get the party started. Also on offer were the classic Pina Colada, the Mimosa a great drink containing Grand Marnier, orange juice then topped up with cava, and one of our personal favourites the Grasshopper. It is a great blend of cream, chocolate liqueur (creme de cacao) and creme de menthe.

However given the success of the Long Island Iced Tea, we thought we'd share the recipe with you. Start with a long straight sided glass known as a Highball. Into your cocktail shaker goes one measure of vodka, one of gin, one of light rum (usually Bacardi), one tequila (we used the slightly more complex gold tequila in ours) and half a measure of Cointreau plus half a measure of lemon juice. Shake the mixture up with some ice in your cocktail shaker, and then pour into your glass. Finally top up with coke and you have one popular cocktail. Straws and a parasol and the job's a good 'un !

If you're planning a party such as a 40th or indeed any age, or a special event or anniversary in Market Harborough or the surrounding areas of Medbourne, Hallaton, East Langton, Tur Langton, Church Langton, Clipston, Great Bowden, Kibworth, Great Oxenden, Lutterworth, Lubenham, Ashley then Long Island Ice Tea should probably be on your list !

Alternatively, give the Cocktail Shaker Boys a call and we'll come round to do it for you !
