Bird Sculpture Commission becomes Garden Feature

The beautiful portrait sculpture of the Turtle Dove, that helped raised awareness of the need for nature conservation, is now the property of a proud owner and a feature of their garden.
The Turtle Dove is now a rare sight in parts of England - though in Shakespeare's time its call was considered a sign of spring and the refrain of love. This pigeon species also has distinctive colour markings and makes the long migration each year to and from South Saharan Africa.
The Sculptress JOEL was commissioned to make the dove portrait, and later asked to show the work at an exhibition raising awareness of the need for nature conservation and to also raise funds to help with UK based conservation projects.
The Bronze Turtle Dove portrait then was set on a tall obelisk of Lakeland slate and exhibited at a prestigious Sculpture trail event, Sculpture in the Sanctuary near Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
Admired by many members of the public, and chosen to be a key garden statue and focal point, the Turtle Dove Bronze has found its new home.
JOEL is currently sculpting more bird species suitable for interior and exterior art features and her attention to accuracy and detail and use of colour is making the Bronzes attractive to buyers and collectors.
She is looking forward to hearing from anyone who would like to support this work and commission their own favourite bird sculpture
