Workshops are the perfect way for a group of people who want to give belly dance a go. Whether you are a school who would like to suppliment learning with dance, or a community group wanting to try something new, this is the thing for you. Although belly dance is associated with women, I welcome boys and men to my workshops. All workshops are suitable for beginners and all ages.
At the moment I have three workshops available:
An Introduction to Belly Dance.
This workshop is perfect for anyone who has never done belly dance before. We will look at some of the basic belly dance moves used, before I will teach you a simple choreography using those moves. The music used is a nice moderately paced Egyptian pop song.
An Introduction to Saidi Stick Dance.
Saidi stick dance has its origins from Ancient Egypt and a very old form of martial art that was used at that time. Because of this, Saidi dance is associated with men and is very strong, so there is no excuse for men not attending this workshop! I will show you how to dance with the stick, how to manipulate the stick in its own right, before teaching you a simple choreography.
An Introduction to Veil Dance.
The veil is a beautiful and graceful prop when used correctly, but it can be tricky. I will show you how to hold the veil correctly to get the most out of it, explain how to dance with it, and teach you some moves you can dance with it. Then we will learn a simple but elegant choreography.
It is recommended that you allow between 1.5 - 2 hours for all workshops, although I can shorten or lengthen them as required.
Workshop cost: £100 per hour and a half, but discount is given for longer sessions.
Travel costs are extra, but you will receive a full breakdown of expenses prior to booking.
