Sports treatments vary greatly from sports massage routines to help prevent injuries, maintain suppleness and improve performance, to full treatments using electrotherapy. Sports Therapists are also involved in rehabilitating after injury, and in promoting fitness through exercise.
A sports therapist is trained to assess common musculo-skeletal problems, and offer treatment for such conditions as whiplash, back pain, repetitive strain injury, frozen shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome, amongst others.
Our level 5 Diploma in Clinical sports therapy course will provide you with all the skills required to work in the exciting and rewarding field of Sports Therapy. We train candidates in the safe use of ultrasound equipment, which is now widely used in most professional clubs and clinics.
As well as practical training, candidates are also required to undertake home study assignments.
We also provide the following text-books:
Hands on Sports Therapy - Keith Ward
For learners that have not undertaken the AHG access course, we would recommend you purchase Trail Guide to the Body by Andrew Biel.
Level 3 Anatomy & Physiology
Level 3 Sports Massage
We do not accept distance learning courses such as Stonebridge for the Sports Massage pre-requisite.
If you do not hold the entry requirements you will be able to undertake our own access course.
