Preston Mountaineering Club was founded in 1933 by a group
of lads from Preston and Blackburn who were extremely keen on
climbing. They would cycle regularly to the Langdale and
Coniston areas of the Lake District for a weekend on the rock.
Our Club has grown from these early days and
now has a programme of climbing and mountaineering throughout
the British Isles and abroad. With a membership of approximately
80, encompassing a wide age range from 18 upwards, we like to ensure
an informal and friendly club atmosphere and all are welcome.
