  Mr. Aslam Mohammed qualified from the Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff in 1984. He presently holds a NHS Consultant Post at Wrightington Hospital for Joint Disease and at Lancashire Teaching Hospital being appointed in 1995. He is a dedicated Lower Limb surgeon who exclusively treats hip and knee problems including Sports Injury.
He undertook his specialist training in Orthopaedic and Trauma at the North Staffordshire Hospital in Stoke on Trent and at the Robert Jones Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry one the leading specialist orthopaedic hospital in the UK.  In addition to this he has spent a considerable amount of time travelling and visiting centres both in Europe and the USA to discuss and exchange ideas on the latest techniques in Orthopaedic Surgery and future developments. 
During his training he was awarded G K Rose Prize for Biomechanics and the Professors Medal for his research into bone cell culture techniques related to fracture healing. He has a strong commitment to and takes an active part in teaching trainees at both his hospitals and on local training and national teaching programmes.
He regularly attends national and international meetings as a member of the faculty and invited speaker on the subject of Hip arthroscopy, Knee arthroscopy and soft tissue injuries of the hip and knee as well as knee ligament reconstruction. 
His current research interests include fixation of ligament grafts in cruciate ligament reconstruction, minimal invasive hip surgery and the application of computers to assist in specific minimally invasive surgical procedures in the hip and knee. 
He has long a standing interest in Hip arthroscopy for which he developed instrumentation to enable safe and reproducible access to the hip joint.   He specialises exclusively in: problems around the hip, knee and ankle joints, this includes arthritic problems, particularly in young adults and sports related soft tissue injuries.
