Smithills Open Farm Birds of Prey was established in 2010 in conjunction with Smithills Open Farm and is owned by Andy and Gary, both birds of prey enthusiasts. The centre is located at which is set in the grounds of Smithills Country Park in 2000 acres of beautiful, open countryside in Bolton. The farm itself covers approximately 100 acres.
Here you can view the birds at close quarters and see the aviaries where they are housed. Weather permitting, the birds spend their day out in the fresh air on their perches so you can get really close to them and see what beautiful, graceful creatures they are. You can watch as the birds fly in our daily flying display between 12pm and 1pm every day weather permitting.
You can have your photograph taken with one of our birds for a minimal charge, or for the more adventurous of you there are a range of courses.
We are open every day between 10am and 5pm. as well as the birds of prey there are many different animals and reptiles for the children to interact with come on down its a great day for the kids.
