We initially train the dog to be obedient and then, if the owner wishes, we can build on the obedience training to take the dog a stage further and train it to gun dog standard. We use no "treats" when training your dog nor do we hard train. Training is fun and part of everyday life. The reward system we use is specifically developed for your dogs personality/needs. To have the dog comply with our wishes we also "area" train. This technique is discussed during the first session once we have taught your dog to walk to heel. We believe being at your heel is the first area the dog should respect. There will be a new home regime put in place for you and your dog with simple easy to follow rules. The second , and usually final session, is to ensure recall is good. We can also offer holiday breaks which include dog training sessions. These can be for a weekend or a week. weekend breaks are normally at our B&B on the farm. A week long break can also be accommodated in our self catering cottage on site. Residential training weeks for your dog can be arranged, your dog can be dropped off for a stipulated amount of time to be trained for you. The amount of time needed to train your dog and pricing can be discussed on the phone pre to booking but as a general rule the cost is £20 per day including board. Many dog owners make use of this facility at holiday time and pick the dog up after their vocation.
