This qualification is offered on behalf of the Department for Transport. You will find it suitable if you wish to enter the profession of Road Haulage Transport Management or demonstrate your professional competence to meet the Operator Licensing requirements. The qualification includes a range of subjects related to the business of Road Haulage Transport Management. The areas specified in EU Directive 98/76/EC are assessed.
Who Should Attend
If you operate goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gvw you will require an Operator’s Licence. To obtain a standard licence you must hold the relevant Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Haulage (CPC) qualification. A Standard Operator’s Licence is required for hire and reward operations and a Restricted Operator’s Licence for own account.

- Unit 2 – Understanding National Road Haulage Transport Operations (40 multiple choice questions)
- Unit 4 – Managing National Road Haulage Transport Operations (case study scenario based questions)
- Unit 6 – Managing International Road Haulage Transport Operations (extended answer questions)
Assessment & Award
There will be four tests at the end of the course. Three will be multi-choice answer based on unit 1, unit 2 and unit 6 followed by a 2 hour case study based scenario based questions.
