EDUCATION LAW

EDUCATION LAW

Tassells is one of the few law firms in the region with specialist knowledge of Education Law.

Parents and children may need legal assistance in dealing with schools and local education authorities in a number of different ways, including:

- Special Educational Needs and “Statements”

- School admissions

- Exclusions and disciplinary matters

- Bullying

Dealing with schools and education authorities can be frustrating and confusing.  These bodies are, however, bound by legal obligations and we believe that it is important that they comply with them, and that the rights of children and parents are respected.

James Matthews has extensive experience of education law including appeals to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Discrimination Tribunal (“SENDIST”), handling reviews and appeals arising from exclusion decisions, and applications for judicial review in the High Court.
